I was raised on a ranch in Oklahoma. I was showing horses by the time I was 7 and winning National championships by age 13. My parents say I’ve always had an “unstoppable attitude and drive”.

I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and
began pursuing my dream job as a retail buyer in the corporate world. I quickly climbed the career ladder and was recognized as the number one area buyer in the country.

I really thought I had found my dream job—shopping for a living with a 15 million dollar budget. A woman’s best dream,http://www.morningmoments.comright? Wrong! I was always on a plane, passing by my family in an airport. As we hear all too often, I was missing out on my family life and wanted to have children. When I realized I was just building someone else’s dream, I decided it was time to get out. So I could be home, I pursued my entrepreneurial spirit, co-owning a traditional business with my parents while raising a new child from home.

Shortly thereafter I found myself, like a lot of new small business owners, getting swept up by the larger competition and overseas markets. We were losing our business and I was losing my family-life as well. I was on the verge of “having to” do what newly divorced single moms are “supposed” to do—downsize my house, my car and lifestyle.

While looking for a smaller house with a realtor, I received a call from Bill, and everything began to change. He asked a simple question; “What has to happen for you to keep the house, car and lifestyle?” I had a fabulous networking business waiting for me back home. I made the decision to “go for it” on the spot, fired the realtor, and nine months later I was at the top of the company. Because of that decision, I still have everything that I was going to downsize—the house, the car, the pool and especially my life and lifestyle.

“When you make a decision to get something done,” says Julie, “then nothing’s going to stop you”. That’s what I did. And the best part is, I met my husband Bill through the process and today we live a Lifestyle that most people only dream about. (big smile)
