In school we’re trained to take tests alone.\u00a0 If you were to “collaborate” on a test with other students – it was called cheating.\u00a0 We have these thoughts indoctrinated into students for 12-16 years and then we release the them into a work place where the boss tells them they need to collaborate in order to get things done.<\/p>\n
Is it any wonder why colleges and employers today look for some kind of\u00a0 sports Team activity on a resume?\u00a0 Ever notice how ball players often go on to become successful business men?\u00a0 Lance Armstrong bet his life on the success of his carefully chosen medical Team and attributed all of his Tour deFrance wins to his Team.<\/p>\n
Team is everything.\u00a0 In life, our success depends upon the quality of our Team.\u00a0 Julie and I have a team of health care practitioners we call upon for our health needs.\u00a0 We have a team of contractors, mechanics, plumbers, well drillers, painters, electricians etc that we call upon to care for our belongings.\u00a0 We have a team of accountants, attorney etc that solve our business challenges.\u00a0 We have a Spiritual team that keeps our hearts, minds and emotions tuned into a higher authority.\u00a0 And most everyone has some version of these things for their life.<\/p>\n
In one of our businesses we have a team that programs an online office and keeps it running, that acquires leads, tracks contacts, presents to them, communicates with them via websites, autoresponders and teleconferecne calls.\u00a0\u00a0 In another we have a computer team, programming team, scientific team, commission team, legal team, product development team, shipping team, account development team that combine their efforts to make certain we have GREAT products to sell, that they’re shipped on time and that we get paid on time.<\/p>\n
Systems are great and necessary and TEAM goes one step further too.\u00a0 What the Saints winning means to New Orleans, Louisiana and America\u00a0 goes way beyond a football game.\u00a0 What we do in our business lives goes way beyond a product or service.\u00a0 Entrepreneurs founded America, grew America and will save America.<\/p>\n
Here’s the way Julie and I see it;<\/p>\n
