Stephen R. Covey, author of “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People,” died unexpectedly on Monday. 79 years young. <\/p>\n
I am forever grateful to Stephen for assisting me in writing my first book and for all I have learned from him about mySelf, people and success.<\/p>\n
He was a true benefactor to the betterment of our entire world. An obituary in USA Today started out by calling him “A force of human nature…”<\/p>\n
Chief Executive Magazine said the Seven Habits was THE most influential book of the 20th Century. His “seven habits” have been woven into the emotional well-being of millions and millions of people’s lives.<\/p>\n
One of my favorite “Coveyisms” is: “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.” He’s known for the concept of “Win-Win.” He taught people, including me, to be proactive. Also, how to think differently, empathically, and more respectfully and in the process discover innovations and breakthroughs. And much much more.<\/p>\n
Remember, our time to pass will come too, so maybe just for a minute today, examine what you’re doing in light of how you want to be remembered.
