We have “widow” and “orphan” – there is no word in our language that describes the loss of a child.\u00a0 The wound simply doesn’t go away overnight.\u00a0 No new laws will make it, or us, feel better.\u00a0 Every parent fears it and all of us are feeling it.<\/p>\n
There are times in life, and places we go, where degrees and titles don’t matter, where money is irrelevant, and if we’re fortunate we’ll have a friend or two that will hold our hand, stand by our side and walk with us.\u00a0 Pray for the strength to be that friend for it is a privilege.\u00a0 While on the journey remember, Life is not lost to the One that can restore it.<\/p>\n
I’ve learned that while at these times and places, it is impossible to stand at the vortex of millions of focused prayers and not feel the effect.\u00a0 So pray for the children, for their families, for our nation and pray for understanding – that someday we might identify people at risk of harming themselves and \/or others before they do so.<\/p>\n
