Live Long & Prosper

We know that it is possible for people to have a life that balances the pursuit of prosperity with happiness. It’s not easy, but it’s not as hard as you may think it is.” –Randy Garn and Elton Willis

Most important

Retired General Norman Schwarzkopf aka Stormin Norman and /or The Bear;

Leadership is the ability to get ordinary people to willingly DO more than they normally would

He also said;

Leadership is a combination of strategy and character. If you must be without one, be without the strategy

The fewer words, the better

The fewer words, the better. Whether it be presenting, demonstrating or simply inviting.

It’s never what you say, it’s what they remember. Too many facts, too many anecdotes or just plain overly wordy, and they can’t find the nuggets to make a decision with – so they leave your invite or presentation with “have to think about it”. To best serve your audience, you’ve got to write and rewrite and whittle and edit until you get your most important points and lessons down to the fewest words possible. Same goes for any powerpoints. Facts tell, stories Sell.

It’s never what you say, it’s what they remember.

Occupy Wall Street part 2/2

Good Morning – wow such strong responses to yesterday’s post.

If you really want to occupy wall street – start your own business and grow it big. Then tithe 10%, Save 10%, Invest 10% and Live off the remaining 70%.

First – as an employee these percentages will be of your Net pay. As a NEW business owner – less than 5 years – these amounts will still be of your Net. After that, you’ll likely use your grosss numbers.

Second, of the first three – Tithing is the most important part of financial abundance, wealth accumulation. Tithing is defined as “giving without expectation of receiving, knowing that you will receive an even greater return” – specifically giving to that which gives you Spiritual nourishment. For most, this is their church, synagogue, etc. and it can be to any individual, group, or cause that gives one Spiritual nourishment. And the process works best when one gives anonymously. And it even works for non believers who stubbornly or grudgingly start tithing. I once doubted the power of tithing – one of my biggest mistakes…next to believing as a child that I could jump off the garage and fly…gravity and tithing are laws of the universe. Ignore them and one will likely get hurt.
Saving 10% – pick your preferred method.

Invest 10% – Pick your preferred method.

Live off the 70%. Sounds hard, and can actually be hard, at first. Tithing greases the wheel and starts the process and keeps it rolling. If you truly believe you’re broke, then start with 1%. Just start!

Sir John Templeton – when he and his wife were first married they committed to tithing 50% of their income…weekly…when his wages were just $5. per week. Sir John ultimately went on to be a Billionaire.

Start by doing what’s necessary, then what’s possible, and suddenly you’ll be doing the impossible” – St Francis of Assisi
