An Example

Good Morning Team – By choice we each live our life as a warning or an example.

Today there will be much discussion regarding Steve Jobs and what he did or didn’t do. As these conversations occur throughout the day let us each remember to lift his family and friends up in Prayer and perhaps ask ourSelves a question or two;

What can I learn from Mr Jobs and his accomplishments?

How can I apply what I’ve learned in my own business and/or life today?

Blessonomics part 3/3

Good Morning Team – from John Elkington, The Power of Unreasonable People: How Entrepreneurs Create Markets to Change the World. Harvard Business Press. Not an easy read…but a fascinating one.

While the concept is gaining popularity, especially since Bill Gates and Warren Buffett pledged the greater parts of their fortunes to solving world issues – the concept dates back centuries.

In America, the start is attributed to the founder of the underground railroad…a system of home owners and business owners that helped free slaves, then to Robert Owen with the 1st factory co-op store, then Florence Nightingale….and more….continuing thru to Muhammed Yunus being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his creation of micro loans as a means of enriching his society…ultimately setting an incredible example for other leaders to emulate.

Today’s Social Entrepreneur is you and I. And we start at home with ourSelves, our families, then our local community. Then to our greater community thru our favorite philanthropic programs. And the more we share what we have to offer, the bigger impact we make….serving ever increasing numbers of people and prospering all in the process.

How much more would you give if you were to build your business bigger? To whom? What if you could? What if you did? What would that feel like?

Blessonomics Part 2

Good Morning Team – Mark Victor Hansen of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series – speaking about his companies;

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is of a world in which innovative entrepreneurial and socialenterprise solutions are used to alleviate poverty.”

The Blessonomic way is for entrepreneurs and companies share a portion of their profits in tax-deductible philanthropic causes. There is a continuum of enlightened giving. This is based upon the spiritual law of giving. What you give returns to you multiplied. Enlightened entrepreneurs are givers. Some give more than others. —

Bill’s Note: It is likely that you have a favorite cause that you could give more to if you were to build your business bigger.

What if you could? What if you did? What would that feel like?

Blessonomics

Good Morning Team – Robert Allen – co-author of “The One Minute Millionaire”, writes of a growing trend in American Business World.

Blessonomics: Becoming an Enlightened Entrepreneur

It’s time to espouse a new way of thinking about business–“When you are an Enlightened Entrepreneur, you multiply your wealth, and multiply your giving. Everyone has something to give.”

This is the fastest way for you and I to create an enlightened fortune. I call it Blessonomics. The first principle of Blessonomics is to find or create value with something that you love. The second principle of Blessonomics is to share a portion of your profits as quickly as possible. Some profitable servants earmark at least 10% of their profits to carefully selected enlightened causes that speak to their own heart. The ultimate goal is to solve problems at a profitable price and bless the world at the same time.

The traditional, capitalistic model, is to earn profits and to give 100% of these profits to their owners, partners and shareholders. —

Bill’s Note: My wife and I support just such a program originally started by Lee Iococca; Nourish the Children. We also support a few local causes. It is likely that you have a favorite cause that you could give more to if you were to build your business bigger.

What if you could? What if you did?
