4 types of people and Belief

Good Morning Team – “Belief” as it relates to the 4 types of people.

1. People who believe the only way to get wealthy is at someone elses’ expense.

This one is based upon the mis-perception that wealth, money and resources are finite.

Money: A medium of exchange. At one time there was none. And every year countries print more. We currently count it in “Trillions”. Money is not wealth. It’s just something we use to measure wealth or to move wealth. So although there may be, in certain specific moments (like your family, this month) a fixed amount of money available to trade with other people for things you want, there is not a fixed amount of money or wealth in the world. You can earn more.

Resources: Human ingenuity, constantly redefines what counts as a resource in the first place. Sand was once used as filler for a timer, bagged and used as a wall to stop flood water or bullets. Now converted to silicon chips for puters, phones etc. In the nineteenth century, as the supply of whale blubber shrank, humankind found a way to make use of the worthless black goo that oozed out of the ground in Texas and the natural gas that was regarded as a hazard in Pennsylvania coal mines. So wealth is never limited by physical resources, only by how we apply our mind to those resources. The power of our minds is unlimited. Our economic system rewards those who make the largest positive impact by fulfilling the wishes and needs of the most people. Their success does not come at someone elses’ expense: rather, it contributes to the constantly changing resources that we all draw upon.

Wealth: A reflection of the energy you add into the world through your unique skill sets. An earthly example; Suppose you own a beat-up old car. Instead of sitting on your duff next summer, you could spend the time restoring your car to pristine condition. In doing so you create real wealth. If you sell your car, you’ll get more for it. In restoring your old car you have made yourself richer physically, emotionally and spiritually. And unless you stole the materials, or time from your employer – you haven’t made anyone else poorer.

Wealth is about creation. You can create many things, businesses and/or states of being. Your imagination is more important than your current level of knowledge. Your WHY is more important than the how.

4 types of people

Good Morning Team – There are many many personality profile tools like the MMPI, DISC, 4 Colors, 4 Animals and others that seek to divide complex human beings into neatly boxed categories. There is some value in doing so and some risk as well.

Here’s one that we run into often;

1. People who believe the only way to get wealthy is at someone else’s expense
2. People who outwardly desire wealth and inwardly feel guilty about acquiring it
3. People who say they “just want to be comfortable and secure” rather than wealthy
4. People who struggle with their desire to give and inability to receive.

All 4 groups have one thing in common: They’re holding themSelves back from experiencing the abundance and joy that surrounds all of us. Everyone at some point in time has issues with money and what it is, what it means and what it can be used for. Learning to address them in a powerful, supportive, productive manner is only one part of success.

Example; We’ve all heard the stories of the millionaires that make it, lost it all, make it, lose it again and then the 3rd time is the charm. That’s the classic journey of learning about money, what it is, what it isn’t. Along the way people will often play the blame game…and as long as they do…what they seek will elude them.

All four groups can be summed up with two words…and where the individual is “at” concerning these two words….they each represent a continuum.

Belief + Deserve.

Tomorrow I’ll cover Belief as it relates to the 4 types listed above.

It’s too hard!

….cries the new entrepreneur.

I felt the need to speak on this today since it affects so many people. I have coached entreprenuers from all walks fo life for nearly 20 years. Our role as coaches and mentors is truly to encourage people.

Examples; When you are studying for your degree, do the colleges drill you on how hard it is to get a job, or how many will get laid off, how many will not be able to retire etc etc? No they empower you to get an education and the rest is up to you.

Here is an analogy that I sometimes use. My daughter was 3 years old when she started ice skating. All she knew is that she wanted to be an Olympic skater like the ones on TV. My job is to help her, give her confidence, encourage her and pick her up when she falls. As a parent should I really say this …..”now you know you will fall about 3,600 times. You will break some bones. The ice is incredibly hard, while other children are in their warm beds you will be freezing on ice at 5:30 every morning. And your odds of being an Olympian are 1 in a million. Now honey go get’em!

That’s insane. Should I destroy her dreams and just tell her? NOT!! As she grows as an athlete she will decide what her goals are. Then she will decide if the work and the struggles to achieve them are worth it.

For entrepreneurs it’s not 1 in a million. The odds are much better for the consistent, persistent individual who keeps working on themselves and their skill sets and learns to delegate what they’re not GREAT at doing. For those who are Olympians in their heart, when its all said and done they won’t remember the falls, because only the people who don’t get back up are focused on the dirt in front of them.

How we really Learn

So many people, when starting something new, get caught up in the trap “well I have to know this before I start”. This represents a state of mind I affectionately refer to as the paralysis of “Anal-ysis”. Yet we willingly sign up for college – and often even pay for it in advance – not knowing what classes we’ll take, what books we’re going to buy, whether we’ll like the classes, the teachers, our classmates or the course material. We have no clue if we’ll pass any particular subject, whether we’ll graduate or not. We have no clue if there will be a job for us after we graduate and yet we willingly sign up for the unknown so we can get a piece of paper called a “degree”.

And of course – what do we really know about marriage before we do it? Or having a baby?

We can read ALL of the books on swimming, human anatomy & physiology, psychology all the way down to the intracellular Krebs cycle. And not one of those books, nor all of that knowledge combined, will ever help a person learn how to swim. In order for someone to learn how to swim they must have the Experience of getting in the water and moving their arms and legs…ie DOing something vs thinking about doing something.

The greatest swimmers, the greatest athletes, the greatest sales people “Just DO it” the most.
Practice, Practice, Practice ……with coaching and mentoring of course.

So all you entrepreneurs-to-be sitting on the fence reading, reading and reading…by all means do prepare for your new venture. And be rest assured you will really begin to learn what your business is all about the day you open your doors (or virtual office). Get off the fence! Start BEing, DOing and Having!!!

What we know dies with us, what we DO leaves a legacy

Look Ahead

It is better to look ahead and prepare than to look back and regret.”

–Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Multiple Olympic Gold Medal Champion

What’s to look ahead to;

A year, 2 years, a lifetime of Health, Wealth, and Abundance – if you’re willing …and act upon your desires. Let your coach
know what your goals are and what assistance if any that you might need. Then; Wear a Smile and Wear it Out!!
