Veterans Day - Dr Bill Toth

An Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U. S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday—a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as “Armistice Day.” Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen in the Nation’s history; after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word “Armistice” and inserting in its place the word “Veterans.” With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

So today and everyday Remember the 56 men who put everything, – property, lives and families – on the line for the something they didn’t even know would work……………..the concept of living by Principles.

They had the “security” and “safety” of England, the greatest nation in the world at the time and they chose something much much more valuable than that – Freedom!

So today and everday Remember those who serve and have served to protect our Freedom.  God Bless America!!!

And also Re-Member with this;

Today = 228th Anniversary

Today marks the 228th Anniversary of the signing of the US Constitution.

George Washington was the first to sign it. Since it’s signing the US Constitution has come to be known as the most important political document in world history.

WHY is out Constitution so important? Because it’s based upon two principles;

1. Natural human equality – no person has the right to rule over another without his or her consent. – known as “consent of the governed”. (Vastly different than European countries where government rules by “rule of majority” – meaning ALL decisions are political down to the local level.)

2. We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights – our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – rights not conditioned upon the whims of those in power.

So remember three things;

1. A quote from Aristotle; “It is useless to have beneficial laws fully agreed upon by all members of government if the people are not going to be trained and have their habits formed by the spirit of the nation’s laws. No society can survive without a populace well informed and educated in regards to the formulation of their government.”

2. The 56 men who put everything, – property, lives and families – on the line for the something they didn’t even know would work…..
…………the concept of living by Principles.

3. Small businesses built America and small businesses will save America. You and I have a “Response-Ability” to either start one or support them.

Happy Healthy Labor Day!

Observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers.  It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894.   Labor Day also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events.

At its’ core Labor Day represents people individually and collectively determining their fate and deciding their destiny.  Individuals chose to be part of the movement or not, thus actively determining their future.  Like minded individuals collectively
determined how they would be governed by employers following a precedent that had been set back in 1776.  Their efforts became bigger than themselves and ultimately changed life in our modern world.

As business owners / Entrepreneurs we find ourSelves in a similar position.  As individuals we each made a decision to actively make a difference in our life, our families and our communities – by collectively participating in something greater than each, or all, of us;

Small Businesses built America and small businesses will save America.

Thus, Labor Day represents you and I – individually and collectively celebrating our true product – Freedom!
