Good Morning Team – This from Mark Victor Hansen

There are some people who could win a gold medal in the Olympics if the “Blame Game” was an event.

It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee, folks. There’s no nice, easy way to say this. And chances are if you don’t already know the truth, you’re not going to like it. So, here it is – the absolute truth:

You get what you give. You reap what you sow. And the only person to blame for your past, present and future success or failure, joy or unhappiness, is you.

We all know about the “Blame Game.” Most of us have played it at one time or another. You see/hear them every day. Their lack of success is never their fault.

If they didn’t get the great job, it’s the interviewer’s fault. The bank re-possessed their house or car? Bank’s fault. Being overweight, advertiser’s fault. Relationship didn’t work out, skinny model’s fault. Can’t afford something, economy’s fault.

I’m not saying we can control everything that happens to us. There are terrible crimes committed every day. These horrible events are completely beyond our control. I’m talking about the everyday choices and actions we make and take.

When it’s all said and done, we are the reason for our successes and failures. It’s time for everyone to take responsibility for their lives, no matter the situation.

What to do? Watch your language. Words have power. Use your power wisely. Use your power to bring success and light into your life. Use it to Serve Others.

The Rise of the 1099 Economy:

Good Morning Team – Excerpts, Bold emphasis mine

More Americans are Becoming their own Bosses

by Joel Kotkin Forbes.com July 25, 2012 10:02 am

While the economy has been miserable for small business, and many larger ones as well, the ranks of the self-employed have been growing. Research by Economic Modeling Specialists International the number of people who primarily work on their own has swelled to over 10.6 million….a 14% increase. This rise is partially reflective of hard times, and the shift to self-employment is likely to accelerate in the future for reasons including the ubiquity of the Internet, which makes it easier for businesses to use independent contractors….

Urban analyst Bill Fulton, concludes we may be seeing a fundamental change in how the economy operates. “Even though there may not be jobs in the conventional sense, there is still work,” Fulton notes. “That’s the whole idea of the 1099 economy. It’s just a different way of organizing the economy.”

The results of EMSI’s research is giving us a glimpse of where the future of economic growth may be taking shape. The biggest changes have taken place in four metro areas where the number of self-employed workers expanded over 10% between 2008 and 2012. In order, Houston > Seattle > Phoenix > Riverside (CA).

The entrepreneurial drive in Houston is clearly not a response to economic disaster – the city has a culture that encourages striking out on your own, and low costs and lighter regulation make it easier….Indeed over the past decade, the Texas powerhouse led the nation in the growth of its 1099 economy, which expanded by a remarkable 51%.

Bill’s Note: We all know it’s tough out there. Tune into any CNNConstantly Negative News for your fill. The real hard question is; What are we doing about it? We may not admit, or like it, but the hard Truth is that our individual economy is totally within our control, and independent from the economy that surrounds us. We are each Response-Able for our individual, and/or our family’s economy. And apparently a whole lot of people are choosing to start their own business as their solution.

Decide, Take Massive Action, find a Mentor and Have a Most Excellent Day!

Be like the Waitress

She simply invites. She goes from table to table with a pitcher of water…simply asking “would you like some more water?” It’s a yes or no question. If someone says yes, she pours them water, maybe engages some chit chat and then moves on. If someone says “no, I’m not interested, or the water industry is just a big scam” – she doesn’t run into the kitchen and cry or quit being a waitress. She just moves on to the next table and asks the same simple question…over and over, table after table, night after night until she achieves her goals that caused her to be a waitress.

And if someone says; “We’ll it depends, maybe, what kind of water, where did it come from, what kind of bottling equipment was used, it is all natural, is it FDA approved? , etc etc. She’ll call the manager over to answer and move on to someone she can help.

A truly successful waitress knows exactly WHY she’s waitressing. She’ll have nightly, weekly, and monthly dollar goals. She’ll engage customers in conversation by asking them questions like who are they, where are they from, where are they traveling to and WHY. She’ll also ask what kind of food do you like, how do you like it prepared and she’ll LISTEN and then RESPOND by providing just the food and information requested.

In a nutshell, she’ll prosper simply by serving others. So be like the waitress and simply invite people to see what you and the Team have to offer.
